Natalie Bassingthwaighte is a multi-talented Australian actress, singer, and television personality. Born on September 1, 1975, in Wollongong, New South Wales, she grew up in the Sydney Hills region. Natalie gained prominence as a member of the pop-rock band Rogue Traders and later pursued a successful solo career. Besides music, she has also appeared in popular television shows such as "Neighbours" and "So You Think You Can Dance Australia."
Steven Bradbury
Steven Bradbury is a former Australian short track speed skater, born on October 14, 1973, in Camden, New South Wales. Although not born directly in the Sydney Hills region, he later moved to the area. Steven became widely known after winning the gold medal in the 1,000-meter short track speed skating event at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. His victory was unexpected as he overtook his competitors who crashed in the final turn, allowing him to win while trailing behind.
Bob Montgomery
Bob Montgomery, born on December 14, 1937, is a former Australian rugby league footballer. He spent the majority of his career playing for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL). Bob was known for his exceptional goal-kicking ability, setting records and winning numerous accolades throughout his career. After retiring as a player, he later became a successful rugby league coach.
Lee Rhiannon
Lee Rhiannon is an Australian politician and former Senator. She was born on July 5, 1951, in Sydney, New South Wales. Although not born directly in the Sydney Hills region, she became politically active and involved in social justice movements within the area during her tenure. Lee was initially a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council before being elected to the Australian Senate as a member of the Australian Greens party. She held the position from 2011 to 2018.
Matthew Mitcham
Matthew Mitcham is a retired Australian diver, born on March 2, 1988, in Brisbane, Queensland. While not born directly in the Sydney Hills region, Matthew later moved and trained in the area. He achieved international fame after winning the gold medal in the 10-meter platform event at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Matthew's victory was notable as he became the first openly gay athlete to win an Olympic gold medal.
